Merle & Andrus Pavelson
Merle (49), former bookkeeper, preferring travelroute creation to balancesheet maintenance; Andrus (49), entrepreneur trying to solve complicated tasks with unconventional approach, using optimism and common sense instead of established formulas. In 1982 while travelling together in Crimea we both got infected by travelling fever. Despite the iron curtain closing more than 80% of Earth’s territory from us those days (we were born in Estonia, occupied by former USSR), we have for last 30 years tried to cure the disease, experiencing different kind of difficulties during backpack and car trips in more than 50 countries worldwide. We have not spared our children neither our few friends from thrill and difficulties related to travelling. Despite all the effort the fever has not been cured and travelling has turned into chronical lifestyle. We love independence and create trip routes on our own. We prefer to travel in small company of few friends, who share same preferences. Casual acquaintances with people all around the world broaden eyesight and add spice to our daily travel routines. We are passionate car travelers preferring overnight stay at campsites, providing connection to local environment, people and active lifestyle. We approach new destinations with prerequisite that each country has thrilling sites to offer, these only need to be located.
Few years ago being pushed by our son, we red another bestselling self help book- The 4-hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss. Joining travelling infection with recommendations from the book, we decided to become guinea- pigs participating in human test, examining validity of presented theory. We chose to change our life completely and go to a long lasting trip more or less around the World. It took a while to find right type of partners, who were interested to find connections on different continents. It is our mission to assist them in creation of these connections. After bringing up our two sons and turning 50, soon, we think this to be the right moment to invest effort and time for finding new experiences and possibilities the World can offer.
